A musician turned DJ, Rough Child is an award winning DJ (Hush DJ Competition 2006) and an impressive music producer. He has released music on Excision’s Rottun Recordings, Static System Music, Fokuz Recordings, and collaborated with legendary UK artist Ed209, Dustin Hulton and Nightvision. Rough Child’s 2015 release with AfroWhitey "Woodgrippin" was picked up by major radio and television and he has received plays from the likes of Ctrl-Z and BBC’s Radio 1. Diverse with a commitment to moving the dance floor, a Rough Child set guarantees flawless production and earth-shattering BASS!

AKELA :: Future Soul

Matt Saunders’ latest project warms your soul and your soles with a blanket of subsonic affection and intuitive funkiness. Drawing from more than a decade behind the decks he specializes in creating positive moods, compelling short stories, and satisfied grins with his careful attention to minute sonic details. His contribution to the Victoria music continues to evolve with collaborator Tedder, helming the successful Future Soul series at The Copper Owl. In addition he is currently running the Hydration Mix Series, a popular Liquid DnB mix series and has now amassed over 25,000 listens. Passionate about the music and committed to the art of DJing, lace up them dancing shoes for Akela.

Tedder is a veteran of the Victoria drum n' bass scene, always keeping his selections smooth & soulful. His collaborations with Mutt have lead to releases on Fokuz, Elm Imprint, Rubik & Soul Rebel Recordings. Tedder, partnered with Akela, currently run the successful dnb night, Future Soul.


Spoon aka Shawn Spoor has been moving dance floors all over Vancouver Island, with his mixed varieties of drum and bass and broken beats since 2006. Whether it be festivals, bush parties, club nights or house parties, you'll never know what this guy is going to throw at you next. He always knows how to read a crowd and rock a dance floor!
