Explosive drummer Bernie Arai has been an integral part of Vancouver's jazz and improvised music community for many years. His unique style has been heard with bands such as the Brad Turner ****, UGETSU, and with Dr. Lonnie Smith.

Bassist and composer Paul Rushka’s **** Explores the music of legendary jazz musician Kenny Wheeler, who was a teacher and great influence on Paul. This drummer-less group focuses on lyrical improvisation and group interplay.

San Francisco raised, Eugene based guitarist Jack Radsliff plays his Vancouver debut. His warm, modern sound weaves through his own original compositions and standards.

Exquisite vocalist Laura Crema brings her long time **** to Tangent, playing music from the American song book as well as originals and obscure pieces from her own repertoire. Her compelling voice is steeped in mystery.

Parker Woods Group

Guitarist and composer Parker Woods leads a group of young collaborators through his moody and introspective compositions. Inspired by composers such as Jakob Bro and Kenny Wheeler, his original music is at once deeply emotional and joyfully uplifting.
