Sunday Scene: Public Studio | The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery | Sunday, 04. March 2018

In our FREE Sunday Scene series, speakers from the world of art and beyond offer their responses to the current exhibitions. Whether focusing on a single work/artist or on multiple exhibitions, guest presenters draw provocative connections between our programs and broader cultural and intellectual debates.

Public Studio is the collective art practice of filmmaker Elle Flanders and architect Tamira Sawatzky. Public Studio creates large-scale public art works, lens-based works, films and immersive installations. Grounded in the personal, social and political implications of landscape, Public Studio’s multidisciplinary practice engages themes of political dissent, war and militarization, and ecology and urbanization, through the activation of site. Flanders and Sawatzky will discuss Emeka Ogboh’s exhibition The Song of the Germans.
