Cold Feat 5K and 10K - Registration Now Open | LaTourette House | Saturday, 24. February 2018

We are gearing up for our annual Cold Feat Trail Race, and are excited to announce a new 5K option for thisl event. Runners can choose their preferred distance of 5K or the traditional 10K.

Supporting the Greenbelt While You Run

Your participation and race fee helps support the nonprofit Greenbelt Conservancy and its mission to offer environmental education and recreation programs for people of all ages and abilities. The Conservancy, which works in partnership with NYC Parks, also leads trail maintenace and beautification projects that help keep the Greenbelt trail system in great hiking and running condition.

About the Course

Start/finish is by the federal style David LaTourette House at the top of the golf course. We are excited to add a 5K distance to this year’s race. The 5K runners will go out before the 10K runners, and they will be on a separate section of the course.

The course for both distances begins on the rolling fairways and takes you off into the surrounding Greenbelt trails – rustic and hilly. The 10K runners will cross Richmond Hill Road twice, and there will be assistance at the crossings. We run in all weather conditions and, based on past race experiences, have found it can be done! This race will be professionally timed culminating in an awards ceremony for overall and age category winners. Refreshments and high quality wicking shirt or hat will be provided for pre-registered runners. Take advantage of early bird registration until January 1, 2018.

The first Cold Feat 10K was held in 2010 and a great time was had by all (despite the nearly two-feet of snow accumulation from several previous storms, and frigid temperature). A group of more than 100 hardy runners endured to cross the finish line with and claim bragging rights. Subsequent races have taken place in all kinds or weather, and we continue to have loads of fun.
