Embrace the holiday magic with your friends and family during the Christmas Lights Across Canada illumination ceremony. Join us for an enchanting evening outdoors where you will watch the marvelous winter lightcapes multimedia show, festive musical performances and colourful pyrotechnics.

This end-of-year celebration will be extra special thanks to a few Canada 150 surprises that will be lovely additions to the party! Picture this: festive entertainment, delicious free BeaverTails® pastries and hot chocolate, while supplies last, and more cool free stuff!

One thing is for sure, the magical atmosphere alone will captivate you! More surprises will be unveiled shortly. Stay tuned: this is an evening that you won’t want to miss!

  • Ah dang! I can no longer go that night. I have to work at Alight At Night at Upper Canada Village since no one else could work that night and I was asked if I could work it and said yes forgetting about this event. Oh well! Too bad this is only one for 1 night and not for more nights. :(

  • Now that the cat is out of the bag, let’s recap on what else you can expect during the Christmas Lights Across Canada illumination ceremony. Magic will definitely be in the air as Juno Award-winner Jess Moskaluke and Céleste Lévis sing their hearts out during the illumination ceremony. If you can’t make it to the event, no problem: we’ve got you covered. The evening’s festivities will be broadcast live on the Canadian Heritage Facebook accounts for Canadians across the country to see! Olympic, Paralympic and other young athletes from each province and territory will be sending Canadians special holiday shout outs that will be presented on giant screens. The winter lightscapes multimedia show will be projected on the entirety of Parliament Buildings this year for a better viewing experience. Confederation Park will be glowing more than ever with light displays and an interactive illuminated work of art for everyone to enjoy. Get the most out of these precious moments with family and friends, in an enchanting winter setting, as hundreds of thousands of lights shine bright in the heart of Canada’s Capital Region. Last but not least, make sure that your skates are sharpened and ready to glide along the Canada 150 Rink: a first on Parliament so join in the fun!
