Goldfields Music Festival 2018 | Newstead, Victoria | Friday, 09. March 2018

The Goldfields Music Festival is being held over the Labour Day Weekend 2018, 9th – 12th March on Newstead Racecourse, and in the town of Newstead, Central Victoria itself.

Organised by InActOz, in association with the Newstead Community, the festival will celebrate the rich diversity of the local music scene by featuring a wealth of talented up-and-coming young progressive entertainers from the Goldfields area, playing alongside invited bands and artistes from Melbourne and interstate.
On Friday 9 March 2018 at 6:00pm the Goldfields Festival will kick off with the opening and dedication, followed by a night of local Blues and Roots in the Community Hall.

Saturday 10th kicks off at The Racecourse with a Free Family Day, with young performers from the Goldfields area performing on the IvyAcoustic stage. Celebrations are set to become livelier from mid-afternoon with rockier bands on the main stage, along with acoustic acts playing in the changeover breaks on the IvyAcoustic stage.

In the Community Hall, the eatery will be serving African cuisine all day, with acoustic acts also playing on the Community Hall Stage.

Sunday 11th will be a day of vibrant local bands and a night of contemporary Celt and Folk music; in keeping with the ‘Newstead Live’ traditions this will be held on the Racecourse. The food and more laid-back music will continue all day and most of the night at the Community Hall.

Labour Day itself (12th) will be an all-age open stage fun jam session from noon onwards. Bands, artistes, and entertainers from the Goldfields area will be able to pitch up and have a go on the stages. The day will cost $10 entry (except for those who have bought tickets for the whole event), and all proceeds will go to the Bendigo Health Foundation.
If you are interested in playing, please email steph@inactoz.com.

Throughout the festival, the Racecourse will feature local produce stalls, traditional and international food stalls together with Arts and Craft stalls, local buskers, acoustic music tents featuring young up and coming singer/songwriters from the area, and much more…
