Family HEART Camp is a unique community experience for all people who long for more Harmony, Ease, Authenticity, Respect, and Trust in their families, in their communities, and in the world. Grounded in the principles of Nonviolent Communication, our camps offer an unforgettable lived experience of compassionate community, in places of natural beauty, for people of all ages.

All of our camps operate using Community-Sourced Programming (CSP), an adaptation of Open Space Technology (OST), as the framework for program offerings.

We are delighted to announce our intention to offer Family HEART Camp in five states during the Summer of 2018: California, Colorado, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. For information on one of our other four camps, visit

FHC West Virginia, the longest-running camp in the FHC community, enters its tenth anniversary year in 2018. We return for the sixth year to Abram's Creek Campground and Retreat Center, a secluded venue filled with natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor recreation located in Elk Garden off Route 50, less than three hours from the D.C. metropolitan area.

Situated along the banks of a small river with nearly 3/4 of a mile of pristine waterfront, the property is characterized by massive boulders for sunning and relaxing, as well as cascading waters, waterfalls, rapids, and deep pools for swimming and tubing.

The venue also offers a few green spaces for play, large and small domes for our programming, an outdoor tent-covered eating area, and a large fire pit for community gatherings and our annual marshmallow roasting night.
