Teaching students to problem-solve for Mathematics GCSE
Why is it that some students are more successful than others at problem solving? What is it that great teachers do to empower students to get better at problem solving?  How can we systematically develop our practice to improve the quality of teaching mathematics for problem solving?
This training day will include:

Evidence from education research on problem solving in Maths
The Dimensions of Depth and how to apply them to your teaching
Classroom activities for hard-to-teach topics at GCSE

The day will be presented by Elizabeth Bridgett and Jay Timotheus, Regional Leads with Mathematics Mastery.
Elizabeth and Jay have taught and led mathematics in a range of secondary schools.  They provide support to mathematics departments throughout the country, providing high quality professional development, as well as authoring classroom materials.
Please note: Lunch is included in the training day.
