Meet Our Speaker: Doneisha Posey - Indiana Civil Rights Commission
Topic: The Low Cost and High Impact of Reasonable Accommodations in the Workplace
Doneisha Posey is currently the Deputy Director and General Counsel of the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. Ms. Posey serves as the chief legal officer of the agency and oversees its team of staff attorneys responsible for all aspects of civil rights enforcement around the state. In addition, she manages the daily operations of the state agency. Ms. Posey received her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law where she has since returned as an Adjunct Professor teaching Housing Discrimination and Segregation.
Learn more about the Indiana Civil Rights Commission and your rights and responsibilities under the Indiana Civil Rights Laws, Title VII, and the ADA. Posey will focus on reasonable accommodations in the workplace and who pays for them. The law requires many employers to provide reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities. But did you know that approximately 60% of all job accommodations cost absolutely nothing? Additionally, the process for providing reasonable accommodations and best practices in finding a resolution will be discussed.
Further, the presentation will delve into the high impact of workplace accommodations for employees with disabilities and moving towards more diversity & inclusivity in the workplace.
