PrEP – The Pill to Prevent HIV: A Public Information Session | Halifax Central Library | Wednesday, 31. January 2018

Event is:
- wheelchair accessible
- scent free (please, no scented personal care products)
- sign language interpretation provided

In 2016 Health Canada approved the first-ever pill to prevent HIV infection. This approach is called Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV - more commonly known as PrEP. However, many people have still not heard about PrEP, or know very little about it.

This information session will address the most common questions about PrEP, including:
· how does PrEP work?
· is this for me?
· are there side effects?
· how can I get PrEP?
· what if my doctor has never heard of it?
· how much will it cost?
· will my health plan cover it?

This panel presentation is organized by the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia in partnership with the Nova Scotia PrEP Working Group, and the Halifax Central Library. For more info contact GMHC@ or 902-425-4882, ext 222.
