Righteously Political Poetry: Canticles vs. Slavery and vs. Imperialism

George Elliott Clarke will recite recent poetry attacking slavery and imperialism—5 centuries worth. He will read from his ongoing epic poem, Canticles, specifically Canticles I (MMXVI) and Canticles I (MMXVII). He will also read poems from Gold.

The recent Parliamentary Poet Laureate (2016-17) and Toronto Poet Laureate (2012-15) has won an international reputation for poetic excellenc and delivers unforgettable performances of unapologetically visceral verse.
