Dazor , Andre Pettipas & The Giants + Sleeping Machines | The Carleton Music Bar & Grill | Friday, 09. February 2018

Calling all alternative rock fans! We’ve got a great triple bill of Dazor + Andre Pettipas & The Giants + Sleeping Machines at The Carleton on Friday, February 9th. It’ll be the first rock show we do after our extensive renovations and we’re keen to show the place off. Show time is 10 PM and admission is only $7 at the door.
Dazor formed a couple of years ago in a dingy basement in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The alternative rock band hit quickly with their debut EP/single Back to the Lounge recorded at the Sonic Temple with Darren Van Niekerk. Since then, the band has been taking their brand of alternative rock music to stages all over the Maritimes, earning features in Halifax’s The Coast weekly, as well as grabbing consistent airplay on local rock radio station Q104.

Patiently climbing the rungs on the Nova Scotian rock ladder, they have their eyes set on tackling the rest of Canada as they work on forging their own sound, developing a live show that relies on loud saturated guitars, heavy hitting drums, thumping bass lines and catchy choruses.
The band members wear their influences on their collective sleeves: Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and Oasis. Not a bad jumping off point for a young band working hard to make things happen for themselves!
Andre Pettipas & The Giants – sing-along anthems with ear worm hooks that will reel you in and release you into a musical wave of vintage grease coast rock n’ roll attitude, combined with 90’s rock/pop sound.

The boys kicked off summer 2017 by placing first over 100 other bands in the Q104 Homegrown Challenge, which netted them prizes in artist development (Groundswell Music), recording time (CodaPop Studios) and $5,000 in musical gear. Not too shabby at all.
They are currently in the mixing phase of their follow up album, No Fools No Fun which is slated for a spring 2018 release.

Sleeping Machines is a band from Halifax, Nova Scotia formed by Adam Seto, AJ Boutilier and Adam Coveyduc in the summer of 2013. The band draws from a vast tapestry of musical influences ranging from math rock, to dance rock, to experimental space music. Together, these styles have created the sonic palate that is the band’s unique sound. Sleeping Machines is currently playing local shows and in the process of recording their debut EP.
