Twelfth Night or What You Will (Edmonton) | Holy Trinity Anglican Church | Friday, 05. January 2018

"If music be the food of love, play on!"

London, England’s internationally-acclaimed Shakespeare Company Malachite Theatre are delighted to return to stages across Alberta this winter, with a heart-warming new production of Shakespeare’s beautiful and boisterous seasonal comedy Twelfth Night.

In the deep snows of the Canadian winter, the shipwrecked Viola has been saved from the sea. Believing her twin brother Sebastian to be drowned, she makes her way in this brave new world disguised as a boy in the service of the melancholy Duke, Orsino.

Meanwhile at the court of the Countess Olivia, Christmas is over and no-one is going home! But with the seasonal liquor cabinet running dangerously short on supplies, Olivia’s cousin, Sir Toby Belch, resolves to make this year's the family reunion of a lifetime!

Featuring a beautiful live choral arrangement and an outstanding cast of home-grown talent, Twelfth Night is the bitter-sweet love song to the Canadian winter promises to be a theatrical highlight of the season.

Twelfth Night runs from January 5-20 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Edmonton.
