Pride & Prejudice Marathon - BBC Mini Series | Fort Edmonton Park | Saturday, 06. January 2018

***This event is currently SOLD OUT, but there is a waitlist. And we ALWAYS have cancellations, so it's worth putting your name down. To join it, go to then click Tickets then click Join Waitlist. There is only one waitlist for all ticket types.***

Six whole hours of Colin Firth on the big screen in the historic Capitol Theatre, secluded from modernity in the beautiful Capitol Theatre at Fort Edmonton Park.

Afternoon tea and dinner will be served at the Selkirk Hotel during two intermissions in the program. There will be gluten-free and vegetarian options, and all dietary restrictions can be accommodated with adequate notice.

For the first time, we will also be offering the option to stay over at Fort Edmonton Park, and to have brunch in the hotel the following morning, for a full historical staycation experience!

Note that no outside food is permitted in the Park for this event. There will, however, be food services on site in addition to the Afternoon Tea and Dinner options, including theatre concession, and light fare and drinks. These are cash-only, and there is an ATM on site.

Both the theatre and hotel are wheelchair accessible and have wheelchair accessible washroom facilities.

  • Are people dressing in Regency attire for this event?
  • Because Fort Edmonton is opening the hotel just for us, we have to rent at least ten guest rooms. Otherwise, we will not be able to proceed with that option. If you wish to stay at the hotel, please make the booking by Christmas. If you want to avoid the Eventbrite fees for that, or for any ticket type, you can email the cost to me at RegencyEncounters@gmail.com. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
  • You can now book a carriage ride, either on the ticketing site, or directly through Facebook, using the Get Tickets button above! Rides are $6 a person and last 15 minutes, during the afternoon intermission. www.RegencyEncounters.com
  • If you'd like a proper Jane Austen style bonnet to wear on your carriage ride (probably over your toque), or to tea, or just for fun, this looks like a sweet little workshop with people I happen to know are utterly charming. https://www.facebook.com/events/194736274433663/?ti=as
  • Hands up who would like to go on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park during intermission? Cost would be under $10 a person.

  • Is there a wait list for tickets?
  • So we can make our donation for tickets at the event?
  • We have, in the past, had some people reserve large numbers of free tickets for this event, and then try to sell them online once the event sells out. This is unfair to those who wish to attend. If you see anyone trying to sell admission tickets online, please let me know and I will cancel their tickets. You can cancel any free tickets you will not be using by logging into Eventbrite. I also offer a full refund on all purchased tickets up to one week before the show, so there is also no need for anyone to have to sell those either. You are absolutely welcome to attend this event for free, with as many friends as you wish. However, it is our policy to require that to reserve more than three Free Admission tickets without making any other purchase, you must provide the names and email addresses of the additional guests who will be joining you. See you all soon!
  • This is the hotel with the theatre in the background. Don't you just want to walk through those doors for a tasty dinner, or a steaming cup of tea, then skip along next door for a proposal from Darcy? www.prideandprejudiceball.ca/events
  • Afternoon Tea is now sold out, but there is space at dinner, and in the show itself. And there will be soup and sandwiches and a concession of snacks and drinks, all for sale during the breaks. And there is also room at brunch the following morning, if you want to treat yourself and stay over. I cannot stress enough how reluctant you will be at the end of the night to get in your car and drive back out into the cold, mucky world of 2018. Your sensibilities will be much more gratified if you instead stroll over to the historic Hotel Selkirk next door, and crawl into bed with a copy of Follies Past: a Prequel to Pride and Prejudice, by Melanie Kerr.
  • Just a heads up that this event is getting dangerously close to sold out.
  • If you were not given the option to add Afternoon Tea or Dinner or Hotel or Brunch, please note that I have added these options onto the home page, so you can add them at any time either by using the Get Tickets button here on Facebook or by visiting the Eventbrite page, or our website, www.RegencyEncounters.com.
  • Watch your inboxes because I just sent a link to everyone on the mailing list! These tickets sell out quickly every year, so tarry not!
  • This looks fun! Definitely interested!

  • This year, we are also offering an option to make your day out into a historical staycation, with a night at the Selkirk, and brunch the morning after. Those who have attended this event in the past can tell you that they are always reluctant to return to the modern world at the end of it, so this is a nice way to ease back into reality.

  • I’m super stoked for this!!
  • Tickets to the show are technically free, as our license does not allow us to charge admission, so we invite you to pay whatever price you feel you would gladly pay for this event. Afternoon Tea is $40 and Dinner is $60. There will also be concession with snacks and drinks, and a soup and sandwich stand for cash only Purchases.
  • I've joined the mailing list. How much will tickets be?
  • Afternoon tea and dinner will be served at the Selkirk Hotel during two intermissions in the program. These will be available for pre-purchase. There will be gluten-free and vegetarian options at both, and all dietary restrictions can be accommodated with adequate notice. Note that no outside food is permitted in the Park for this event. There will, however, be food services on site in addition to the Afternoon Tea and Dinner options, including theatre concession, and light fare and drinks. Both the theatre and hotel are wheelchair accessible and have wheelchair accessible washroom facilities.
  • Tickets will be released to the mailing list on Monday night. If you are not yet on our mailing list, you can add yourself at www.RegencyEncounters.com.
  • Omg, I really want to go to this, I've never been to the theatre at Fort Edmonton though is it accessible? I know The Selkirk is because I had my wedding reception there 😊
