Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)- Part 1 | Dallas Children's Advocacy Center | Thursday, 12. September 2019
This training is limited to DCAC and MDT Leadership.
As members of the MDT, we **** traumatic events more frequently than the general public and may become more vulnerable to acute stress, posttraumatic stress, depression, and anxiety symptoms. Critical incident stress management (CISM) is a type of crisis intervention designed to provide support for those who have experienced traumatic events, as our MDT members do daily. CISM aims to lessen the impact of the critical incident, normalize instinctive reactions, encourage the natural recovery process, and restore the adaptive functioning skills of first responders. CISM will better prepare MDT members to focus on self-care and debrief after particularly upsetting cases, ultimately helping to minimize stress, burnout and staff/partner turnover.
Lunch will be provided each day.
Please note, this is the first part of several trainings. Additional dates and details will be released soon.
