Unity Rally to End White Supremacy in Toronto | Sunday, 15. October 2017

***UPDATE: Final date confirmed for Sunday, October 15th at noon in Queen's Park ... JOIN US!

*** UPDATE*** The University of Toronto has issued a statement denying the validity of the rally originally posted by the Toronto Nationalist Party. All this means to me is that this group is still percolating and are only without a venue. In light of countless recent tragedies sparked by hatred and bigotry, we will absolutely be moving forward with our Unity Rally on 10/15. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shared, and come through with love!! Stay tuned for updates ....

  • Friends - This is in part an introductory primer on immigration policy, and in part an elaboration of another politics of collective transformation. It is written to be shared with as many people as possible that are attending and organizing anti-racist actions. Please read before this Sunday's actions.
  • I'm super excited for this rally! Its a shame it was pushed back a month. I've been thinking about whether I want to wear my Captain America cosplay to this event, since his character was created specifically to fight against nazis and their "ideals". However I have some apprehension as A) this is Canada, not the US, and B) recent depictions of this character have been very offensive and against the ideals of his original Jewish creators. I'd love to get some thoughts on it, and I'm still pumped to go whether I'm in cosplay or not 😃
  • It's really funny to see how white people are offended or mad at this rally. Those people are either ignorant of what the ideology of white supremacists are or they are sympathizers. Pretty much all there is to it.
  • DURHAM FRIENDS - is anyone coming from Oshawa with space for two people, or insight on a group travel option like low cost bussing / transport? Please let me know ASAP
  • Boozhoo , in regards to the land acknowledgement and First Nations involvement, there is some confusion, we were included for the original event and it has since been sidelined to another date, many more groups involved and the voice of the original land holders has been largely ignored and lost and actually deleted as an admin to this event. With that being said, all settlers and allies can now speak to immigration and hate on sovereign land that was stolen in the first place
  • Hey there quick question! I know this event wad initially planned as a counter rally to a white supremacy demonstration that was planned in Toronto. I was wondering if this was still the case or if this is now just it's own rally to denounce white supremacy Thank you!
  • If Hillary had won, would this even be a 'thing'? Nope. The left is as full of racists as they thought the right was.
  • Socialist Action members and supporters look forward to participating in the rally with our display booth, and in the demonstration with our banner "Smach Racism. No Platform for Fascists." Please, what is the demo route and timing, approx.?

  • Hi Folks! I'm a member of a group called the Movement Defense Committee, which is a working group of the Law Union of Ontario. We are mostly (but not exclusively!) made up of lawyers and law students and we provide support at protests in the form of legal observers to monitor police. If there are arrests, we have a hotline that people can call into, and we do our best to provide referrals to counsel. I've been working on getting a group together to come out to the protest, just wanting to touch base with the organizers, make sure this is something they would like us to do. I was at the first organizing meeting but I missed the later direct action meeting unfortunately. Looking very forward to the 15th!
  • Shannon, I expressed interest in speaking at the rally and sent a sample piece, but didn't receive any response...still interested, and will send what I would actually like to say... please let me know...
  • Aw yes, the "Unity Rally to End White Supremacy in Toronto" fighting supremacy by protesting white nationalism. Remember, that if Japan wants to remain ethnically Japanese, they must by default think there are supreme to all others.
