What's Up With: Feathered Friends | Bow Habitat Station | Wednesday, 13. September 2017

Ever wonder 'What's Up" with Alberta's wildlife and natural resources? Discover through staff and self-led Investigation Stations throughout our Discovery Centre for ages 2 & up!

Upcoming themes:

Investigation Stations: 10:00am-12:00pm and 1:00-3:00pm
Staff-led activity: at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm or 2:30pm.

All activities included with your Discovery Centre admission. (Free for members)
  • Excited to have the City of Calgary Parks educators joining us February 7 as we find out what's up with rodents!
  • Excited to be joined by the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (CWRS) today with their special guest! They'll be providing a short presentation with their hawk inside our Discovery Centre at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30 and 2:30 (subject to change as this is a wild creature).
  • Here's a little 'tater track-tivity' to do at home to keep you on your two toes!
  • Visitors are busy discovering 'What's Up' with Horns and Hooves. Come check out Parks Canada's hand-on bison and investigation stations for yourself, today until 3pm!
  • Excited to announce that Parks Canada will be on-site tomorrow to talk about their hands-on-bison! Get immersed in the world of bison restoration through an interactive booth and learn the ecological and cultural importance of bison to Banff National Park. Can't wait to see you there tomorrow!
  • An easy, little coyote shaker craft for you to try at home. It's a noisy one, so we apologize in advance!
  • Chase that HOWL-oween sugar high with some hands-on learning opportunities today as we discover what's up with Alberta's wild cats and dogs today!
  • Unfortunately, 'What's up with Bears' has gone into hibernation for the winter and will be back later next year. However, wild cats and dogs will be creating a howl on Nov 1 instead. See you then!
  • Thanks to everyone who came out today to discover What's Up with Bats. Huge thanks to the Alberta Community Bat Program for attending today. We sure learned a lot and hope you did too!
  • All set to go for today's program to learn what's up with bats!
