The Ugandan Girls Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce an exciting Double Bill performance by Magnolia Buckskin and the Jansen Sisters in support of the Foundation. Thank you to both of these groups for donating their time and talents to our cause!

All proceeds will go toward supporting education for girls in Uganda. You can find out more here:

Ticket price is $20 (plus a small processing fee) and for those who wish to contribute further, an additional ticket type has been added for donations.

Be sure to bring some cash along to the show if you're interested in either the cash bar or CD sales!

Band Bios:

The Jansen Sisters
The JansenSisters are an acoustic folk band comprised of Cassidy and her twin sisters, Micah and Alixx. Over the years they have also incorporated their youngest sister Jenna on vocals and percussion and occasionally their Dad, who was kindly kicked out of the band once the girls learned how to accompany themselves on a variety of instruments from guitars and ukuleles to an upright bass. Music is something their family has used to strengthen family relationships, pass on values and build memories with each other. They started busking 9 years ago and have been playing locally in Calgary ever since. Their harmonies are heavenly and their songwriting has been celebrated in various competitions.

Magnolia Buckskin
Magnolia Buckskin members Corry Ulan, Emily Triggs, Natasha Platt and Kathy Cook have been winning the hearts of audiences for more than half a decade with their intriguing lyrics and captivating arrangements. A flavorful blend of grassroots, folk, and acoustic pop music highlights sweet harmonies, laced with banjo, accordion, clarinet, mandolin, bass and guitar.

  • This is Dorothy. She is fearless and consistently at the top of her class. Our job is merely to move the obstacles out of her path so that she can do great things. Join us along with Magnolia Buckskin and Jansensisters as we celebrate and support this amazing young woman.

  • I love this picture - it was taken on our last visit with two of our high school graduates - so proud of them!
  • Did you know? Many girls in Uganda don't go to school past grade 6 due to the cost. We are doing our part to break that cycle! To date, 43 girls have been provided with full scholarships thanks to our donors and supporters!

  • In Uganda we work primarily with two schools. We encourage the girls to get to know the other scholarship recipients. Our efforts in Uganda are spearheaded by the most amazing volunteer Mulondo Yeseri Paul. I don't know what we would do without him!
