Florida Constitutional Amendments on This Year's Ballot | Bradenton Women's Club | Monday, 10. September 2018

Stop Ballot Confusion! This year’s November ballot will be FILLED with 13 Florida constitutional amendments. Why?  Every 20 years a Constitutional Revision Committee meets and proposes amendments to Florida's constitution. Although the commission only added 8, most are "bundled"…that means multiple changes are contained in one amendment. The ballot also contains amendments propsed by the state legislature and by citizen petition. This vote is important, as the Florida Constitution is the highest law of the state, and other laws and regulations must be compatible with it.
League of Women Voters (a non-partisan organization), is working to clear the fog.  This presentation will give you the details of each of the Florida Constitutional Amendments, tell what happens if that amendment passes and if it doesn’t, and tells you who supports each amendment and who opposes it.  If you can’t make this presentation, there is another with the same information on at 6PM on Monday, Oct 1st (Central Library) and 6PM, Thursday, Oct 11th (Lakewood Ranch YMCA).
Attend this presentation. It's free. Reservations are not required. Bring your Florida voting friends and neighbors. Vote informed…it’s voting smart!
